The most famous blizzard to hit Oswego, totalling 103 inches of snow over 5 days. Lasting from January 27, 1966 - January 31, 1966, the blizzard clocked in wind speeds over 60 miles per hour causing schools and roads to be closed as long as a week. Below is a breakdown of the snowfall during the blizzard.
Overthrowing the famous blizzard of 1966 to take the throne as the most famous blizzard to hit Oswego accumulating 10 feet of snow over the course of 8 days in February 2007. Personally this was an awesome event, school was cancelled for a week, stayed home played video games, drank hot chocolate and played in the snow. For others, not so much, some residences, cars, mailboxes, etc could not be found.. they were buried in snow! Some of this pictures in the gallery on the left depict that.
